I installed a new vocoding VST today and can't get it to show in my StudioOne Pro browser. It's from the imageLine site and it is a VST, not a FL effect. Or, at least, it claims this.
I opened Sonar X1 and it fired up the Vocodex right away. I am kinda staying away from Sonar, since I've been having such fun with StudioOne. It's the ONLY VST not showing Studio One, so I'm frustrated? Since it runs in other DAW(s), it's installed correctly. I figured this was the place to go for assistance. If you're not sick of the effect, it's a cool vocoder.
Any thoughts?

Well, since you have given no system info, none of us can even make a guess. Here's what I copy and paste into every thread now-a-days. We need....
1. Computer specs (speedram and OS MacPC helps)
2. 32 or 64 bit OS
3. Version of Studio One (as some older versions have different issues) the latest 1.6.4 should be installed
4. 32 or 64 bit version of Studio One (which can effect what plugins will show up or not) 32 bit plugins won't show up in 64 bit S1, for instance.
These details are essential to getting any questions answered because we have nothing to go on otherwise. Let us know so we can assist you further.
Thanx!

Well, then, okay:
Intel i7 860
Win7 professional
8.00 GB
64-bit - OS, Studio One pro 1.6.4, and the VST is 64 (according to the manufacterer)
It's not this stuff. It's something I've done incorrectly, or 'didn't' do or, . . . Studio One doesn't love me or Image Line. I love it though. Just a stupid easy and Great sounding vocoder VST.
I'm thinking that it's a directory thing, EXCEPT ALL other VSTs work from this location in Studio One, Sonar X1, etc.
?

I'm not sure where you got the information that Vocodex is 64-bit, but I seriously doubt it is. As far as I know there's no 64-bit version available for any of the Image-Line plugins. I just downloaded the demo and that is 32-bit only.

That is what the crack staff FROM imageline wrote me. Hmmmm. Thanks Image Line! 'FruityLoops' is right.
Oh well . . . . . . . See?!! I told it wasn't working. Now I know why.
Thanks.

If there is a x64 bit version then it should work or something is wrong with the plugin, but I'm not seeing any indication there is a 64-bit version of any of the plugins.
Maybe they were referring to use of the plugins with a bit bridge.

Could be they (IL) meant 'compatible with a 64bit OS' which is not nearly the whole story. S1 will run Vocodex but...with Jbridge. I was looking at Vocodex the other day as a possible purchase and I could not see any reference to a native x64 version. I wish it did have one
I opened Sonar X1 and it fired up the Vocodex right away.

Sonar was very likely running Vocodex with it's built in bit bridge. It is a seamless process (in Reaper as well) and likely why it appeared to running as a native x64 plug in Sonar. Vocodex is definitely not a native x64 plugin yet AFAICT.
