In the game, players control the differently colored Yoshis most of the time. Mario is a helpless baby unless a star that makes him invincible is collected. As a Yoshi, players can swallow enemies to make eggs, these eggs are used for attacking other enemies and activating switches.
- From Yoshi's Island to the latest title on the Nintendo Switch, this series has always had a distinct style. It's unsurprising then that Yoshi's Crafted World is gorgeous. The game sticks with school-yard graphics and is constructed from various items you'd find in an elementary school art room.
- The original SNES version of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island is included on the SNES Classic Edition, and although it has yet to be announced for release on Virtual Console on any other system, it is one of the 20 launch titles for Super Nintendo Entertainment System - Nintendo Switch Online on the Nintendo Switch.

The first non-trivial jump of the game is Box Jump--getting P-speed and jumping from the message block to the brown swinging platform's pivot. After that, keeping P-speed for the rest of the level is fairly easy. To save an extra game second, run along each of the brown platforms so Mario gets a short boost from each one.

Lunar Dragon
Regaining P-speed after exiting the underground section is very tight without hitting the midway point. If you do touch it, you will probably have to damage boost through the Koopas in Iggy's Castle.
